Tewaaraton Outstanding Native American/Haudenosaunee Scholarship

Each year, the Tewaaraton Foundation awards the Tewaaraton Native American Scholarship to one male and one female student.  The scholarship honors high school students of Haudenosaunee heritage who achieve academic excellence, and exemplify high character and leadership both on and off the lacrosse field.

Avery Doran, Bear Clan of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe

Avery is graduating from Hotchkiss School where she was an outstanding multi-sport student athlete and 2024 captain of her lacrosse team. She will matriculate to Brown University this fall and will be playing lacrosse. Avery has also been selected to represent the Haudenosaunee Nationals U20 Women's team that will compete in the 2024 U20 World Lacrosse Championships in Hong Kong.

Brett Bucktooth, Jr, Wolf Clan of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation

Brett is a graduate of LaFayette Central High School where he played lacrosse three years and was a two time Captain. Brett attended college-preparatory school at Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts this past year. Brett will attend Syracuse University this fall where he will play lacrosse.
