WASHINGTON – The Tewaaraton Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of 2005 Tewaaraton recipient Kyle Harrison to its board of directors.

In 2025, the Tewaaraton Award will be in its 25th year of recognizing outstanding college lacrosse players and celebrating the games of Native American heritage. The Tewaaraton Award is the preeminent award of one of the fastest growing sports in the US and the world, highlighted by its inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
One of the greatest players in lacrosse history, Harrison was a two-time USILA Midfielder of the Year and 2005 national champion at Johns Hopkins University who went on to a decorated professional career as a nine-time all-star, and 2017 champion with the MLL’s Ohio Machine. A two-time Team USA player, he has twice been awarded the Premier Lacrosse League’s Brendan Looney Award for Leadership, and was inducted into the U.S.A. National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2023.
"Having dedicated much of my life to the lacrosse field, I'm honored and excited to join the Tewaaraton Foundation board,” said Harrison, who is now the PLL’s Director of Player Relations and Diversity and Inclusion. “The memories my family and I have made from my time as a finalist, and ultimately being fortunate enough to win the award my senior year, are some of our favorite experiences of our lives. I've seen up close the power that lacrosse holds to inspire, unite, and uplift, and I look forward to collaborating with the board to continue shaping the influential role we can play in advancing the sport.”
"Kyle is a special individual,” said Jeffrey Harvey, Chairman of the Tewaaraton Foundation. “He is more than just a player and a professional, he is a leader in making this game available to all. For the Tewaaraton Foundation, his voice is an important reflection of all those that have been honored to receive this special award in recognizing the game, its past and future. We are grateful for all he’s done and will do for the Tewaaraton Foundation Board of Directors.”
