WASHINGTON, DC, FEB 6 – The Tewaaraton Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025
Tewaaraton Award Men’s and Women’s Watch Lists presented by Stifel. The lists include the top players in college lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
The 2025 Watch Lists include three returning Tewaaraton Finalists: Cornell’s CJ Kirst (2023) on the men’s side, and Loyola’s Chase Boyle (2024) and Northwestern’s Madison Taylor (2024) on the women’s side. Boston College and Northwestern lead the women’s list with five players each among 26 schools represented, while Notre Dame leads the men’s list with four players among 28 schools represented.
“As presenting sponsor of The Tewaaraton Award, we’re excited about the start of another great college lacrosse season and look forward to following these exceptional student-athletes on their road to team and individual success,” said Ron Kruszewski, Chairman and CEO, Stifel. “We’re also thrilled to begin the second year of our partnership with The Tewaaraton Foundation, which has done so much to elevate the sport of lacrosse and honor its Native American heritage.”

Players not named to this initial list will have opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch List additions will be announced on March 7 and March 27, before the field will be narrowed to 25 men’s and 25 women’s nominees on April 17. Nominees can be players from the Watch Lists or not from the Watch Lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
Five men’s and five women’s finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season. The Finalists will be honored and this year’s recipients announced live on May 29 at the Tewaaraton Ceremony in Washington, D.C. The Tewaaraton Foundation recently added a talented group to its Board of Directors, including 2005 Tewaaraton Trophy winner Kyle Harrison, former Notre Dame All-American Kevin Ridgway, Johns Hopkins Lacrosse alum and Triple Crown winning racehorse owner Sol Kumin, Stifel executive Brad Raymond, and social media pioneer Aaron Earls. About The Tewaaraton Foundation
The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the preeminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. Founded at the University Club of Washington, D.C., the award was first presented in 2001 with permission from the Mohawk Nation Council of Elders. “Tewaaraton” is the Mohawk word for lacrosse, and The Tewaaraton Award symbolizes lacrosse’s Native American Heritage. The Tewaaraton Foundation ensures the integrity of the selection process and advances the mission of the Foundation. Each year, The Tewaaraton Foundation presents two scholarships to students from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy – the Mohawk, Cayuga, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, and Tuscarora Nations.
